All the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours as Mikel Arteta continues to strengthen his squad.

Arsenal are already hard at work preparing for the new season, and what a summer it has been for the Gunners already.

Mikel Arteta and Edu have been able to wrap up Bukayo Saka’s new contract ahead of agreeing three huge deals, signing Kai Havertz, Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber. The Gunners may not be done there, either, still working on potential incomings and outgoings. Arsenal are determined to close the gap between themselves and Premier League title winners Manchester City during the coming season.

With that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the Emirates Stadium.

Soares decision

Arsenal star Cedric Soares has not travelled to the USA with the rest of his teammates.

That’s because Arteta has decided to move on from the Portuguese star this summer as he continues to shape his squad ahead of the new season.

Our very own Chris Wheatley has tweeted: “Understand Cedric Soares’ omission from Arsenal’s pre-season trip to the US was a technical decision by Mikel Arteta. He’s not close to a move away but situation expected to develop in coming weeks.”

Lavia claims

Arsenal are reportedly set to make a move for reported Southampton target Romeo Lavia.

According to Football Insider, the Gunners want another centre midfielder due to Thomas Partey’s reported move to Saudi Arabia. It’s claimed Saints star Lavia is the man Arsenal have selected to replace Partey, although there is competition.

Liverpool are said to be very keen on landing Lavia, and they are said to be confident of getting a deal done. The good news for Arsenal is that Liverpool are said to be reluctant to pay more than £40million for the young midfielder, while Southampton are said to want as much as £50million. The question is - what are Arsenal willing to pay?

Okonkwo decision

Arsenal are said to be ready to sell Arthur Okonkwo this summer with the goalkeeper in the last year of his contract.

Fabrizio Romano has tweeted: “It has been agreed that talented goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo (21) can leave Arsenal on a permanent deal this summer. #AFC His contract expires next summer - after Sturm Graz loan last season Okonkwo is now subject of interest from clubs in England and across Europe. “

Okonkwo has been with Arsenal since 2009, but it seems his Gunners journey has come to an end as Arteta looks to trim his squad.
