TfL: Elizabeth line part suspended and DLR severe delays as Paddington, Heathrow, Reading and Stratford hit

TfL said the issues on the DLR and Elizabeth lines were caused by faulty trains.

Faulty trains impacted Elizabeth line and Docklands Light Railway (DLR) services on Wednesday morning (August 16) causing delays for commuters.

Elizabeth line delays

At 8.30am Transport for London (TfL) was reporting there was no service between Abbey Wood and Whitechapel.

Between Paddington and Heathrow and Reading there were severe delays.

There were minor delays between Paddington and Whitechapel.

The issues were due to a faulty freight train at Custom House.

TfL said there was a good service on other routes.

Tickets were being accepted on London Underground, South Eastern, Great Western Railway, DLR, Heathrow Express and Bus services via “any reasonable route”.

Docklands Light Railway (DLR) delays

Severe delays were reported between both Bank and Stratford International, and Woolwich Arsenal while a train was being fixed at King George V.

A good service was reported on the rest of the line.
