Road closures: eight for Barnet drivers this week

Drivers in and around Barnet will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And three of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M1, from 10pm January 9 to 6am January 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 3 to junction 2, exit slip road closure for concrete investigations, diversion via National Highways and TFL roads (M1 southbound to junction 1, A406, A41, A1).

And a further seven closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M1, from 10pm January 16 to 5.30am January 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction 4, Lane closures for electrical works.

• M1, from 10pm January 18 to 5am January 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction London Gateway Services, Lane closures for repair of message sign.

• M1, from 10pm January 19 to 5am January 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction London Gateway Services, Lane closures for electrical works.

• A1, from 10pm January 23 to 6am February 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2, entry slip road closure and lane closures for concrete repairs, diversion via TFL roads.

• M1, from 10pm January 24 to 5.30am January 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Lane closure for communication works.

• M1, from 10pm January 25 to 5.30am January 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction London Gateway Services, Lane closure for communication works.

• M1, from 10pm January 30 to 5.30am January 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, carriageway closure and entry slip road closures for inspections, diversion via TFL roads.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
