92 further coronavirus cases and one more death recorded in Barking and Dagenham
The number of coronavirus cases in Barking and Dagenham increased by 92 in the last 24 hours, official figures show – and one more death was recorded.
A total of 28,470 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 in Barking and Dagenham when the UK coronavirus daily dashboard was updated on August 25 (Wednesday), up from 28,378 on Tuesday.

Hide AdThe rate of infection in Barking and Dagenham now stands at 13,297 cases per 100,000 people, far higher than the England average of 10,141.
Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 35,547 over the period, to 6,590,747.
There was also one more coronavirus death recorded in the latest 24-hour period in Barking and Dagenham.
The dashboard shows 471 people had died in the area by August 25 (Wednesday) – up from 470 on Tuesday.

Hide AdIt means there have been two deaths in the past week, which is an increase on none the previous week.
They were among 16,024 deaths recorded across London.
The figures include anyone who died within 28 days of a positive test result for Covid-19, and whose usual residence was in Barking and Dagenham.
Daily death counts are revised each day, with each case backdated to the actual date of death.
The figures also show that more than half of people in Barking and Dagenham have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine.

Hide AdThe latest figures show 95,114 people had received both jabs by August 24 (Tuesday) – 53% of those aged 18 and over, based on the number of people on the National Immunisation Management Service database.
Across England, 77% of people aged 16 and above had received a second dose of the jab.
Unlike at local level, the national rate was calculated using mid-2020 population estimates from the Office for National Statistics.
