A time where schools and even some workplaces support the event by donning big, soft red noses, here’s where you can buy one in London.

When is Red Nose Day 2022?

Red Nose Day 2022 falls on Friday, March 18 2022.

The show will be broadcast  on BBC One from 7pm, and will be broadcast  from the BBC studios in Salford, Manchester.

It will also be live on the BBC iPlayer at the same as TV.

What is Red Nose Day?

Red Nose Day is a fundraising event organised by the charity Comic Relief, aiming to rid the world of poverty. The donations over the years allow Comic Relief to partner with organisations and charities around the world making a positive impact on the lives of so many.

The ultimate aim for Red Nose Day is to end child poverty for good, and empower and educate young people, who may not have the access to basic human necessities such as food, clean water and a good education.

Some of the biggest names in the celebrity world including Eddie Redmayne, Matt Lucas, David Walliams and more make a televised appearance in aid for Comic Relief, usually playing out a funny sketch, engaging people to watch.

Where can I buy a red nose and other Red Nose Day merchandise?

To get into the spirit of the day, and raise awareness, it’s commonplace in schools and some workplaces to be able to don a big red nose for the day.

In London, you can purchase a red nose for Red Nose Day 2022 from supermarket giants Sainsbury’s for £1.50. The noses are also green as well as red, as they’re completely free from plastic. The material used is called ‘bagasse’ which actually comes from a sugar cane.

If you buy a nose from Sainsbury’s, 75p will be donated to Comic Relief.

Argos are also selling red noses, for £1.50. Like Sainsbury’s, the material is also made from bagasse. At Argos, you can get different animals on the nose, that includes a hippo, giraffe, cow, sloth, bear and flamingo.

If you wish to buy directly from Comic Relief, you can, as their red noses cost £1.50 online, as well as other merchandise such as t-shirts, aprons, water bottles and more.

TK Maxx are also selling merchandise, but not noses. They are selling T-shirts for adults and kids, plus, tote bags, notebooks, aprons, prints, greeting cards and more.

What Red Nose Day events are happening near me in London?

On Friday, March 18 and Saturday, March 19, vintage buses will be running on various routes in London to raise money for Comic Relief.

The old Routemaster bus, which was withdrawn from regular services in 2005, despite two that remained in service until 2021, will be re-deployed for two days across some TfL routes in London.

Northside Youth Community Connexions, operate in north London, and is hosting a Red Nose funday between 3pm and 6pm Edmonton Shopping Centre on Friday March 18, 2022.

Families can expect free make-up, a video game tournament, a quiz and a cake sale.
