Laurence Olivier Awards 2023: Ted Lasso star confirmed as new host and how to get tickets to ceremony

The new host of the Laurence Olivier Awards for 2023 was nominated for three herself, and won a Primetime Emmy Award for her role in Ted Lasso

Tickets for the Laurence Olivier set to take place later this year are now on sale. The award show is presented annually by the Society of London Theatre to recognise excellence in professional theatre in London.

A new host has also been confirmed for the awards ceremony too. The Olivier’s have previously been hosted by comedian Jason Manford, but Hannah Waddingham will now host the show.

The 48-year-old from London has history with the awards, and has been nominated for three Olivier’s herself. She is also a Primetime Emmy Award winner for her role in hit television series Ted Lasso.

Claire Walker and Hannah Essex, co-CEOs of the Society of London Theatre, said: “The Olivier Awards are the highlight of the theatrical calendar - a time for the industry to come together with fans to celebrate the extraordinary talent both on our stages and behind the curtain.

“Already, in our first few months of this job, it is clear that we have joined a uniquely innovative, diverse and resilient sector. To be able to recognise these qualities on the stage of the Royal Albert Hall will be a real thrill. We are also hugely thankful for Mastercard’s continued support.”

When are the Laurence Olivier Awards 2023?

The Olivier’s will air on April 2, 2023, and will broadcast on ITV and Magic Radio. Mastercard will once again continue their partnership with the Olivier’s for a 13th year with the ceremony taking place at the Royal Albert Hall.
