To mark 150 years of Alexandra Palace, the iconic venue is holding a whole host of celebrations this bank holiday weekend. The Grade II listed entertainment and sports venue first opened its doors on May 24, 1873.

To mark the milestone, birthday celebrations are set to kick off on Saturday (May 27) as the venue invites Londoners to join in. As well as a big party which is free to all, there are also a number of ticketed activities guests can book a ticket for. Whether you prefer a silent disco or one on ice, there is something to suit al tastes.

Visitors can also enjoy the venue’s vast green spaces amid the festivities. According to the Met Office, the capital is in for warm weather over the long bank holiday weekend so the stage is set.

Here’s what ticketed party celebrations, Londoners can join in on this weekend at the venue.

Silent Disco In The Park

What is it?: Londoners will be able to have a boogie in the Alexandra Palace Park grounds as part of a silent disco. After donning a set of headphones, guests will be able to switch between three different channels to ensure they’re always listening to something they enjoy.

When is it?: There are slots available to book throughout the afternoon from midday. The full set of times is listed below:

  • Noon - 12.30pm
  • 12.45pm - 1.15pm
  • 1.30pm - 2pm
  • 2.15pm - 2.45pm
  • 3pm - 3.30pm
  • 3.45pm - 4.15pm
  • 4.30pm - 5pm
  • 5.15pm - 5.45pm

Tickets: Standard £7, Under 16, £5. Those who are Alexandra Palace members may be able to get passes at a discounted rate.

Club De Fromage On Ice: 150th Birthday Disco

What is it?: As part of Alexandra Palace’s birthday celebrations, The Club de Fromage pop party will take over the venue’s ice rink.

Doors open: 5.45pm

When is it?: 6pm - 7.30pm

Tickets: £15

Mel Blatt DJ set 

What is it?: Mel Blatt of All Saints will also spin some decks as part of the venue’s birthday celebrations.

Doors open: Noon

When is it?: 6pm - 8pm
