Former West Ham star cuts short honeymoon to push through Champions League club deal

Former West Ham star Andy Carroll is reportedly close to moving to a Champions League side.

Former West Ham United forward Andy Carroll has truncated his honeymoon and flown to Brugge to try to push through a deal.

The former England star signed a short term deal with West Brom where he got only three goals in the second half of the season.

He has been told that his contract at the Hawthorns will not be extended but that is turning out to be a blessing in disguise.

The ex-Hammers man is looking for a new deal that will bring him back to the very top of European football - and according to wide reports he is closing in on one in Belgium.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, the striker has cut short his honeymoon and is now expected to go through a rigorous medical before agreeing to a deal.

The former England international has played in the Europa League for Liverpool in the past.

Even though he is now in the twilight of his career, there is a feeling that he still has what it takes to to deliver at the highest level.

Before West Brom, Carroll was at Reading, where he spent three months helping the club at a time they were desperate for goalscorers despite not having money.

Injuries have affected Carroll as he was tipped to be one of the best forwards in the game.

He has had to endure the pain of always being in and out of teams and spent six injury-hit seasons at West Ham.
