The 20-year-old frontman is yet to make his senior debut for the Blues but did score nine goals in 38 appearances in all competitions for the Saints last season.

He will return to Stamford Bridge this summer and there have been reports Broja could be allowed to spend a second season out on loan.

He recently received the backing of Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp, who described the striker as ‘a fantastic young player’ when assessing his loan stint with Southampton.

He said: “He’s had a really, really good season. He’s an impressive young man.

“I think people are probably surprised when they play against him how quick he is. He’s got this incredible pace and strength and he can finish really well as well.

“He’s a fantastic young player and I just want to see him get better and better because he deserves all the success.

“He’ll be well aware next season is a big one for him.”

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is yet to make a decision on Broja’s next step but is reportedly keen to put his own stamp on the Blues squad with the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Ruben Loftus-Cheek being linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge.

Football Insider have reported West Ham have an interest in Broja and have made the striker ‘a top target’ during the close-season.

The report also suggests the Hammers will ‘test the resolve’ of Chelsea as they look to see off competition from several Premier League rivals and strengthen their attacking options.
