However, a move to England didn’t materialise for him in the end and David Moyes’ side pursued other targets before the deadline.
AC Milan are now interested in snapping him up, as reported by CalcioMercato.
West Ham target
West Ham brought in Nayef Aguerd and Thilo Kehrer from Rennes and PSG respectively to bolster their defensive department.

Kiwior, 22, would fit the bill as he is young, has the potential to develop in the future and has already racked up plenty of first-team football so far in his career.
The Poland international played for GKS Tychy, Anderlecht and Podbrezová before catching the eye at Zilina.
He spent two years with the Slovakian outfit before landing a move to Spezia and has since adapted to life in Seria A with ease.
AC Milan are the latest club to be linked with him so West Ham will have competition for his signature if he is still on their radar.
