West Ham are set for their third match of the new Premier League season this afternoon as they host Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Irons have suffered successive defeats and are yet to score a goal in the league, leaving them in desperate need of three points today.

However, fans have already shared their frustration at the starting line-up before the match has even begun after David Moyes once again left Gianluca Scamacca out.

The London club signed Scamacca on a five-year contract for a reported £30.5 million last month and has impressed in his brief appearances so far.

The striker has been forced to come on from the bench in their opening fixtures before going onto score on his first start for the club in their Europa Conference League match earlier this week.

With West Ham yet to score a goal this season, supporters have criticised Moyes for his team selection ahead of today’s clash.

Here is how some fans reacted on social media...

@aidxn03_ - “What does Scamacca have to do?”

@_connorpoole_ - @Scamacca, Cornet and Ashby should all be starting in my opinion.”

@AndrewKane221 - “Scamacca not starting is really annoying me. Moyes is overstating how much harder the EPL is to other leagues. I think the dude who scored vs Milan at the San Siro can handle Brighton at home...”

@Whu_Justin - “Still the old players what is Moyes doing?”

@W1zardOz - “Stick with the 6 goals in 35 game lone striker system then. Maybe we will get a different outcome.”

@OMG_its_tasha_ - “Omg really you leave Scamacca out again. Someone in West Ham needs to tell the manager to start him in every game, we need goals.”

@markwhufc80 - “How is Scamacca not starting? Basically the same team as last year bar one player, every other teams making changes.”

@mellamosami - “Cornet? Scamacca? So many recruits left on the bench in profit of underperforming players, you have to wonder if West Ham are just hte most philanthrophic club ever.”

@rj_whufc - “For people saying to start Scamacca you need to see that he will start against Viborg and I know he is class but Antonio’s hold up play is key to the squad and Antonio offers more than goals. I’m sure Moyes will bring him on early in the second half.”

@cedesparisse - “Only Moyes will buy versatile players just to play the same team and formation from two seasons ago. This is really going to start annoying fans and the players.”
