Burnley midfielder Josh Brownhill is out of contract at Turf Moor this summer, which has not gone unnoticed by West Ham.

West Ham are ready to offer Burnley captain Josh Brownhill a contract at the London Stadium this summer, should the midfielder choose not to extend his deal at Turf Moor following the side’s promotion back to the Premier League.

The 29-year-old, who has played 41 times in the Championship for Burnley this season, is yet to sign a new deal ahead of his contract expiring at the end of June. GIVEMESPORT claim that the Hammers are monitoring the situation and are ‘willing to make a contract offer’.

The outlet adds that the Hammers will have to contend with interest from overseas. Brownhill is not short of suitors following an impressive Championship campaign with Burnley, which has seen him score 16 goals and bag six assists from the centre of the park.

West Ham preparing contract talks with Burnley midfielder

Graham Potter will have to focus his attentions on breathing new life into the West Ham midfield this summer. Carlos Soler is set to depart come the end of his loan from Paris Saint-Germain with Tomas Soucek and Edson Alvarez both linked with exits.

Brownhill is reportedly on a £45,000 per week contract at Turf Moor, having arrived at Burnley from Bristol City in January 2020 for £9 million. He has played 111 times in the Premier League with six goals and six assists to his name.

The midfielder was impressive again at the weekend as he helped Burnley terrorise QPR at Loftus Road, romping home to a 5-0 win away from home. The Burnley Express rated Brownhill 9/10 for his efforts and said: “Absolutely ran the show. Epitomised Burnley’s display, bringing quality but also bags of desire. Showed quality to set up two of the goals.”

Brownhill is said to be ‘contemplating whether to take his career in a new direction’ despite this season’s success at Burnley. Serie A giants Roma and Lazio are also named as potential suitors with admirers in the Saudi Pro League as well.

Josh Brownhill on future amid Premier League links

Speaking about his future earlier this month, Brownhill said: “Nothing’s changed. I want us to get into the Premier League, that's my role. Then when the end of the season comes, we'll look at it properly.

“Me being captain, I feel like it's my role, off the pitch, to make sure that this club is a Premier League club and we're so, so close now. It's still not done. There's a lot of hard work from now until Monday [when Burnley play Sheffield United] and until the following games. I'm just really excited for it, but it'll mean absolutely everything to get this club back to the Premier League.”

Burnley boss Parker has said that he is ‘hopeful’ that Brownhill will sign a new deal with the club. When asked about the player’s future, along with that of CJ Egan-Riley, Parker said: "They are ongoing conversations we've been having over the last few months and we'll keep engaging with. Probably now we all know and there's real clarity on where we're going to be (next season), hopefully we can get some conclusions on both of them.

"I am confident - I know both the players have loved this year and been vital to what we've done. Obviously you never know but hopefully we can get to a point where we'll have a bit of clarity on that."
