West Ham are reportedly keeping tabs on Salternitana striker Boulaye Dia. He is currently on loan with the Italian side from Villarreal but has been in decent form this season.

According to a report by Le Cronache, the Hammers have been monitoring his progress in Serie A. They aren’t the only Premier League club in the frame though with Everton and Nottingham Forest also credited with an interest.

West Ham could see Dia as someone to bolster their squad ahead of the second-half of the campaign. The London club are too close to the relegation zone for comfort and another option up top would help them rise up the table.

The Senegal international has just been away at the World Cup and helped his country get out of the group stages. However, they were beaten by England in the Round of 16.

Dia made his name in France at Stade de Reims and scored 28 goals in 88 games for the Ligue 1 outfit to earn a move to Villarreal in 2021. He then made 25 appearances in La Liga in the last campaign and fired five goals before he was shipped out on loan.

The 26-year-old has six goals to his name for Salternitana this term but they are at risk of losing him due to the fact he isn’t their player. West Ham are in the frame for his signature ahead of next month’s January transfer window but so are Everton and Nottingham Forest.
