West Ham transfer news: Irons ‘eye’ swoop for Sao Paulo pair, Crystal Palace youngster ‘linked’ with loan switch

West Ham’s London Stadium has been included in the UK and Ireland’s joint bid to host Euro 2028. A statement by the FA has revealed that the preliminary bid dossier includes 14 stadiums.

The London Stadium is one of nine English grounds included, alongside Villa Park, Everton Stadium, Etihad Stadium, St James’ Park, Stadium of Light and Old Trafford. There are then another five stadiums across the UK and Republic of Ireland - Aviva Stadium and Croke Park (Dublin), Casement Park (Belfast), Hampden Park (Glasgow) and the Principality Stadium (Cardiff).

The home of the Irons has played host to the Premier League since 2016, though it has also held the London 2012 Olympics, 2017 World Athletics rugby league and more. The FA will have to decrease the list to 10 stadiums by April, though the London Stadium would be likely to make the cut.
