The West Ham transfer decision which will have a major impact on Man Utd, Leeds and Aston Villa

Declan Rice has decided to stay at West Ham amid transfer interest from new Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, according to reports.

Reported first by the Mirror, the England midfielder has no desire to leave the Hammers this summer. It seemed he would push for a move after rejecting the opportunity to sign a new deal at the club.

David Moyes has been vocal in saying that he did not expect the West Ham talisman to leave anytime soon. Pricing his man at £100m plus, illustrating his massive worth to the club.

Alongside United, Chelsea have also shown interest in Rice who is a boyhood Chelsea fan. It looks like both clubs will have to search elsewhere for a midfielder or potentially wait until next year to acquire Rice.

A potential alternative to Rice for United would be his England counterpart Kalvin Phillips. An injury hit season for Phillips finally ended yesterday after he put in an outstanding performance against Brentford. Leeds will do everything they can to keep hold of the player after securing their Premier League status for another year.

It was reported recently that Phillips was not keen on a move to Manchester out of loyalty to Leeds.

Another Englishman that Premier League clubs may look at to bolster their midfield is Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham. The 18-year-old has been linked with a move to Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United. To prize him away from Germany would take an extortionate bid to acquire him this summer.

A slightly cheaper option that United have been linked with is John McGinn of Aston Villa. The Scot has been a consistent performer in the league since Villa's return to the top flight, but Steven Gerrard has attempted to warn all clubs away from him.

If Ten Hag is to secure a star midfielder this summer, he will have to pay a large transfer fee, with clubs looking to stand strong from any pursuit from the so-called Premier League big boys.
