The Liverpool forward has had a storming start to the season and is being talked about as the best player on the planet at the moment.

He has 15 goal contributions in his first nine league games of the season, scoring 10 and assisting five in what has been a breathtaking start to the season.

The Liverpool forward also scored a goal of the season contender against Watford, when he dropped his shoulder, weaved through a sea of players before planting the ball at the back of the net.

Before that, he set up Sadio Mane with a brilliant inside of the foot pass for Liverpool’s first on the day and the Senegalese’s 100th Premier League goal.

Salah also recently broke Didier Drogba’s 104 goals to become the highest scoring African in the history of the Premier League.

Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster, who faced the Egyptian in the Premier League, sums up what makes the lethal forward quite unique.

“I want to talk about what Mo Salah and what he said to me at full time,” the Watford goalkeeper said.

“What he said made me think my God, you are so professional, so driven and you want to be the best.

“You want to be the best you can possibly be, so they have just won the game 5-0 and Mo Salah comes to me.

“He’s scored one and they have won 5-0 and he comes up to me and he’s got his hand over his month because he didn’t want the camera to pick up whatever he was saying to me.”

Foster explained Salah said to him: “Ben, Ben, if I had got a penalty on which side would you have dived?”

“Now as soon as he said that, I thought you clever clever little boy,” the goalkeeper continued.

“All the goalkeepers do their research on the strikers we are facing, and we are trying to find out where their last four, five, 10 penalties might have gone.

“And Mo Salah, his last five penalties he put to the goalkeeper’s right.

“So I looked to him and said: ‘I would have gone to my right, because all your last five penalties you put to your right.’

“He looked at me with a wide grin on his face and he went: ‘Yeah thank you, I need to know I need to know.’

“So he’s not content with just winning the game and his team scoring five goals and scoring an unbelievable goal and being man of the match.

“He has to know the tiny little details, and in his next game, if he gets that penalty, which way he should put it.

“That for me is why Mo Salah is up there.”

Foster will be hoping that his side builds on their impressive 5-2 victory at Everton, when they host Southampton this weekend.

Against all odds, Claudio Ranieri’s side travelled to Goodison Park and came out with three points.

They will take on Southampton this weekend with renewed spirits and confidence.
