Watford striker Rey Manaj has emerged as a potential transfer target for Getafe ahead of the January window. The forward has struggled to make an impact since making the move to England in July.

According to Fichajes, he is a ‘possible’ alternative attacking option for ex-Hornets boss Quique Sánchez Flores at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez. The La Liga outfit are currently 15th in the table after three wins from 14 games.

Watford swooped to sign Manaj from Barcelona following their relegation from the Premier League to sharpen their striking department. However, he hasn’t hit the ground running yet and hasn’t managed to score yet in his six appearances in all competitions.

He penned a three-year deal so the Hertfordshire club have a big decision to make on what to do with him this winter. It is worth noting that the manager they have at the moment, ex-West Ham man Slaven Bilic, didn’t sign him.

Manaj spent two years on the books at Camp Nou but didn’t make a senior appearance. Instead, he was loaned out to Spezia in the last campaign and chipped in with five goals in 30 outings for the Italian outfit. He has also played for the likes of Inter Milan, Granada and Albacete.
