Tottenham may have a problem on their hands, with one of their key players expressing his unhappiness with how the club have dealt with him this season. Spurs have had a mountain of injury concerns this season, so much so that their season has been wrecked by a constant stream of absentees.
Ange Postecoglou has failed to find remedies, leaving his job hanging by a thread, and Tottenham are destined to miss out on Europe unless they can muster up some sort of form in the Europa League between now and the end of the season.

Those players who aren’t playing so much have their own plan to come back and me too, I train at the club but I also do my own work outside the club, recovery work, prevention of injury. Everyone has their own schedule, if the training sessions are less intense it’s for those players coming back, they have the training they need, and also for the players who are playing, we need a lot of recovery.
“I think it’s crazy, when you have too many players injured, the situation for the team and the club, it’s a difficult time. This is football, now we focus on recovery and the players will come back stronger. It’s a bad situation because when you have all the back four (defenders and goalkeeper out), seniors, it’s a bad situation. I think it’s incredible that I am 25 [and I’m the oldest], but I have been here two years now and every game I push with everything on the pitch.”
Romero’s complaints
One of the players who has struggled with injuries this season is Cristian Romero, who is usually one of the club’s starting centre-backs. Romero The 26-year-old has missed as many as 27 games this season across three injuries, and 21 of those came from a hamstring issue, with many other in the squad also struggling with hamstring issues.
Romero is now back, and he has been a regular again in Postecoglou’s line-up in recent weeks, but he may have some awkward conversations to have when he gets back from international duty with Argentina. That’s because, speaking to Eduardo Burgos, Romero strongly hinted that the Spurs medical staff made some missteps with his injury. He said: “I’m grateful that the national team’s medical team was able to get me out of that bad moment.” Burgos then added in a tweet that the defender appeared ‘very upset’ with how Spurs handled his injury.

The Argentine has impressed for Tottenham, and Real Madrid will prioritise the signing of a centre-back this summer, perhaps leading them to the Argentine.
