Spurs’ potential starting XI next season if Conte gets transfer targets - will Richarlison start?

Tottenham will have options in every department after a summer spending spree, but how will Antonio Conte set his team up on the opening day?

Tottenham are quietly building a team that will rival all the top four teams, with Antonio Conte determined to establish the Lillywhites as a main-stay in the Premier League.

Conte has already signed three players this summer, Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic and Yves Bissouma have all pitched camp in north London and the fresh addition of Richarlison will terrify opponents.

There is also the expectation that Dejan Kulusevski, who excelled so much last season, and Rodrigo Bentancur will continue to improve while new additions fight for starting slots.

Spurs are not done yet though with strong links to Barcelona defender Clément Lenglet.

Sky Sports is also reporting that Conte is close to sealing a £15m deal for Middlesbrough’s Djed Spence, who dazzled while on loan at newly-promoted Nottingham Forest last season.

The arrival of all these new stars, adding to the likes of Harry Kane and Heung-min Son makes for an exciting season ahead.

Spurs have finished ahead of Arsenal in the last six seasons, and last season they snatched Champions League football from the Gunners, which has served as a springboard to go on and add ammunition to the team.

It is well documented that manager Conte has won the league title in England and Italy, but if he can get Tottenham win a trophy, the first since 2008, it will top all his recent achievements.

Jose Mourinho, a man considered as a serial winner, was unable to end the trophy drought, while Mauricio Pochettino, who is considered a huge success at Spurs, still has doubts on the magnitude of his achievement because they did not win a title or cup.

Conte though will try to change that, so here is how we expect him to line up on the first day of next season based on the signings and expected transfers.

Who will make the starting XI, and which big players will have to settle for spots on the bench.
