Tottenham player ratings vs Coventry: 'very poor' 3/10, plenty of 4s but one 7 in last-gasp Carabao Cup win

Tottenham progressed to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, but they had to come from a goal down to win 2-1 against Championship side Coventry. They were second-best for most of the game, and Coventry took the lead through Thomas Asante. However, Djed Spence equalized late on, and under-fire Brennan Johnson secured the win with a brilliant finish.
Fraser Forster - 4
Made a good save in the first half and generally handled himself well in what was his first start in months for the club.
Archie Gray - 3

Hide AdA very popular figure in the Tottenham dressing room, we are told, but his full debut didn’t go as expected. Not that he was at fault; he just didn’t do anything spectacular.
Radu Drăgușin - 4
Decent performance but didn't really organize the defence or do enough to break into the first eleven.
Ben Davies - 5
Played a very professional game. Made an unbelievable block in the second half when the score was still 0-0.
Destiny Udogie - 4
Had a quiet first half and was substituted for Djed Spence.
Pape Matar Sarr - 5
Worked hard, but at times he didn’t know how to use the ball to hurt the opposition. The concern with Sarr is that he hasn’t improved much from last season.
Rodrigo Bentancur - 3

Hide AdDidn’t progress the ball as much as he could have and was part of a midfield that never really got going.
Lucas Bergvall - 4
Quiet for most of the time he was on the field.
Wilson Odobert - 3
Looked like he picked up a serious injury and was forced off in the first half. This was a chance for him to impress.
Dominic Solanke - 4
A disappointing evening for the summer signing. He seems too eager, and it’s just not working for him at the moment.
Timo Werner - 3
An uneventful game for the German forward. Very poor with his finishing.
Substitutes:
Djed Spence- 7
Brilliant goal to restore hope when many had given up.
James Maddison- 4
Booked for protesting, and that was pretty much his only contribution after coming on.
Son Heung-min- 5
Quiet game for Sonny.
Brennan Johnson- 6
Finished brilliantly to secure the win
