Tottenham 'offered' bargain £5m midfielder after departure deal 'falls through'
Tottenham are said to have been offered a bargain deal for a midfielder as they potentially add more depth to the middle of the pitch. The caputres of Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray have helped Ange Postecoglou add much-needed depth to the middle, but Spurs may not be done there.
While Postecoglou is said to be satisfied with the club’s summer business, with the club having bagged him - not least with the £65million signing of Dominic Solanke - the club will keep an eye out for attractive options on deadline day.

The midfielder has shown he is more than capable at Premier League level and will reportedly be available for a bargain fee on deadline day due to being in the final year of his contract. Burnley now face the typical dilemma of either selling now or losing one of their best players for free next summer. Fulham and Everton are also said to be interested in the 28-year-old.
Strictly speaking, Tottenham don’t need Brownhill, but with a Europa League campaign to tackle, the depth may prove useful, and this type of cheap deal is what Spurs were keeping their eyes open for on deadline day.
Devine deal collapses
One deal Tottenham won’t be doing on deadline day is a proposed loan deal that was set to see youngster Alfie Devine join Birmingham City on a season long loan. The 20-year-old was all set to join the Blues for the season, but the deal is off, according to Football Insider.
They say a deal has fallen through, and Tottenham will now look to find a new loan club for Devine before the window slams shut at 11pm on Friday night.
