Name won’t go away

Spurs are still believed to be keen on signing Roma attacking midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo this summer.

The 23-year-old has been with his current club since 2018 and has scored 22 goals in 111 games.

According to La Repubblica, (via Giallorossi.net), Conte’s side are ‘attempting to make a new assault’  for the Italy international.

Kion Etete is reportedly heading out the exit door on a permanent basis.

The young striker spent last term out on loan in the Football League at Cheltenham Town and Northampton Town to get some experience under his belt.

The Daily Mail report he is ‘in talks’ with Cardiff City over a £500,000 move although Spurs will insert a buy-back clause into the deal.

Injury blow

Spurs will apparently be without Oliver Skipp for the start of the new campaign.

The midfielder made 28 appearances in all competitions last term, 18 of which came in the league, having previously had a loan spell at Norwich City.

As per Football London, he has suffered a hairline fracture to his heel at the training ground and will be out of action for ‘two to three’ weeks.
