Stats experts predict how Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal will fare in Champions League battle

It has all come down to one last push and one final battle as North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal look to secure the fourth and final Champions League table.

Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea have already secured another season in European’s elite club competition and the final place will be decided on what should be a dramatic afternoon.

Spurs currently occupy fourth place and they are strong favourites to return to the Champions League with a win at already relegated Norwich City.

Speaking ahead of the trip to Carrow Road, Spurs manager Antonio Conte said: “If you remember in the last nine games, before the last nine games, I said now we are ready to fight for a place in the Champions League, we are in this race. I never said this before but I said it was a miracle and I said we must fight for a place in the UEFA.

“But in the last nine games, we understood something had changed in everybody, I put the pressure on myself and I pushed, I put the pressure on my players and we are here to speak about an important target for our club.”

Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat at Newcastle United hampered their hopes over overhauling their neighbours and they will have to hope they can claim a home win against Everton and hope Norwich can pull off a shock win against Antonio Conte’s side.

Despite that defeat in the North East, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is still hopeful his side can end their six-year absence from the Champions League.

He said: “It is very possible. I have been back a few years and seen examples of teams playing in the last game of the season and things happening.

“The closer the game is, I am hopeful.”
