Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola spoke after his side’s big win over Tottenham.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has heaped the praise on Tottenham after his side’s win in North London on Wednesday night. City eked out a narrow 1-0 win thanks to Erling Haaland’s first half goal, though they nearly let it slip in the final moments.

Pape Matar Sarr had a big chance at the death after Haaland had a second goal ruled out for handball, and perhaps harshly. For Spurs, it is a return to losing ways after back-to-back wins, although there are signs of them becoming more resolute with players returning from injury.

After the game, City boss Guardiola praised Tottenham and named one player who was ‘unstoppable’. Asked what he said to Djed Spence after the game, the Spaniard joked: “’Why you run too much?’ He should be more calm.” Guardiola added: “The impact with Udogie is quite similar. The pace that this team has is difficult. Yeah, maybe Liverpool, but they’re unbelievable.

“Bergvall, every time he has the ball and runs, he’s unstoppable. Spence, Pedro Porro, Udogie, Kulusevski, Son. It’s an incredible physical team with a clear idea to play, and they play really good. hey play without Romero and Van de ven, two one of the best central defenders in the league.

“Even with that, the game was open in the second half because we didn’t close it in the first It should have been closed in the first one, that was the problem and it has happened many times this season. We have given away an unbelievable amount of goals and I remember, for example, Sporting Lisboa in the Champions League, we should have been 3-1 or 4-1 in the first half and we lost 4-1, so it has happened many times.

“Today, fortunately, it finished good, and in Champions League qualification, it is a very good result for us.”
