Early Tottenham Hotspur vs Brentford injury news with seven out and two doubts

Tottenham Hotspur will once again contend with a London derby this weekend, only this time they will face Thomas Frank’s Brentford in the weekend’s Premier League clash. The match comes after just days after their last-gasp win over Coventry City in the EFL Cup, in which Djed Spence and Brennan Johnson produced 88 and 90+1 minute goals to secure Spurs’ passageway to the next round.
Ange Postecoglou had already come under fire once this week for suggesting that, despite their early season struggles, the Lilywhites’ fanbase can expect silverware at the end of this season. The last-minute nature of their Coventry City win will have done little to calm things down, but the Australian head coach will seek to capitalise on the club’s recent cup win with a victory over the injury-struck Bees this weekend.

Brentford
Josh Dasilva - OUT
Midfielder Dasilva continues to recover from knee surgery that was undertaken in February. He is not expected back until late November.
Yoane Wissa - OUT
28-year-old Wissa is the latest injury with Thomas Frank confirming he will be out for a ‘couple of months’ after sustaining an ankle injury against Manchester City. Speaking to the press, Frank said of his forward: “Unfortunately not good news - it looks like an injury that will be a couple of months. It’s very frustrating.”
Gustavo Gomez - OUT
Gomez sustained a minor stress fracture in his back and is now set to be out of action until at least mid-October. Ahead of Brentford’s meeting against Man City, Frank said of Gustavo: “Gustavo is a player I believe can help us soon - he is nearly ready. He’s got a minor stress fracture in the back, but it’s not a big issue. He will not be able to be on the bench for a few weeks.”
Mathias Jensen - OUT

Rico Henry - DOUBT
Rico Henry has been out for a year and continues to be plagued by a minor muscle injury. He is expected to make a return in the next couple of matchdays. Last week, Frank said of left-back: “He’s still on track but got a minor, minor, minor muscle injury. We expect him to be on the pitch tomorrow. Yes, it’s a setback, but it’s not really a setback because it’s nothing to do with his knee.”
Aaron Hickey - OUT
The Scottish international continues to be ruled out with no return date yet suggested. He initially suffered a thigh injury and most recently underwent a procedure that removed the previous repair sutures and making a new tendon repair.
Igor Thiago - OUT
The Brazilian forward underwent a successful surgery on a meniscus injury and won’t be back in action until at least ‘late 2024’.
Tottenham Hotspur
Richarlison - OUT

Yves Bissouma - Doubt
Last week ahead of the north London derby, the Australian head coach said: “If he doesn’t make Sunday, then I’ll assume he’ll be right for after that.” Bissouma sustained a tweak in his groin while on international duty with Mali.
Recent news has further confirmed that the EFL clash against Coventry was to come too soon for the midfielder but “hopefully, there is a chance that he will be okay for the weekend.”
Wilson Odobert - Doubt
Odobert was taken out of action half way through the first half against Coventry with the extent of the injury not yet known. Speaking after the match, Postecoglou said: “I’m not really sure. Both of them look liked muscle injuries which is the way things are going for us - we’re getting multiple injuries in the same position.
