Agent opens up on Tottenham ‘target’ as Serie A giants hatch plan to prevent transfer

Tottenham are back in action when they take on Newcastle United on Sunday as they look to get back to winning ways.

Antonio Conte’s men suffered a costly defeat to potential top four rivals Manchester United during the week, losing more ground on leaders Arsenal. Tottenham have impressed for the large part this season, but they have not stood up to tests against some of the best teams in the league, and that is something they must address if they have title ambitions.

Mamardashvili interest

Tottenham are said to be interested in a move for Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Mamardashvili wasn’t expected to progress as much as he has by Valencia, but since being forced to come in to start early last season amid goalkeeping injuries at Mestalla, he has caught the eye. Marca have previously claimed Mamardashvili is a target of Spurs, and those links have resurfaced amid uncertainty over Hugo Lloris’ future.

And the goalkeeper’s agent, Levan Seturidze, has told Calciomercato: “Many important teams are watching him and we have found interest from them, not only from Italian but also English teams. For now our goal is Valencia and he must do his utmost to grow even more. As for the 2023 summer transfer market, however, many things can change but for now he is the starting goalkeeper of Valencia.

Leao blow

Tottenham could be set for a blow in their reported bid to sign AC Milan sensation Rafael Leao. According to 90min, Milan are willing to offer the attacker a huge new contract to keep him from leaving the club any time soon.

Leao has managed four goals and eight assists so far this season, enjoying another excellent campaign after winning player of the year in Serie A last season. He is now being linked with spurs, but Milan seem to have a plan.
