Millwall issue new signing response plus Daniel Farke and Leeds United transfer 'disagreement' emerges
The Championship is now on international break, with Millwall and QPR facing frustrating waits as they look to add to their first league wins of the campaign. The Hoops defeated Luton Town in their final game before the break, while the Lions thrashed Sheffield Wednesday to bag a much-needed three points to settle any early nerves.
Both clubs will be looking to pick up where they left off after the break, but there will be plenty of work to do on the training ground before then. Here we round up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the Championship clubs.

Millwall have responded to record signing Mihailo Ivanovic’s call-up for the Serbia national team after it emerged that the striker had a significant metatarsal injury. The statement read: “We are proud that Mihailo Ivanovic’s talent and hard work has been recognised to represent Serbia’s national team at just 19-years-old. Mihailo was identified earlier this summer as a player with incredible potential, and we are delighted to have signed him on a long-term contract.
“During a series of extensive medical tests, the club identified a potential short-term metatarsal injury which could be managed in London with the best care. Our medical team is of the belief that a period of rehabilitation is in the best interests of Mihailo, and knows his national team will take great care of him. The club remain in constant contact with the Serbian FA. We wish Mihailo the very best during his first of many call-ups to the international team, and look forward to seeing him in a Millwall shirt over the coming months.”
Farke and Leeds’ fall-back option
Leeds United boss Daniel Farke reportedly disagreed with club bosses over the late transfer window signing of AO Tanaka. According to the Rheinische Post via GiveMeSport, Leeds were pushing to land other players ahead of falling back on the Dusseldorf man when those efforts did not pan out.
Leeds are said to have paid £3million for the Japan international, hoping he will prove a sufficient replacement for Glen Kamara. Tanaka had one year left on his contract and reportedly refused to sign an extension, but he was not at the top of Farke’s list of targets, according to the report.

Hide AdGoodman on Sunderland’s chances
Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman has issued his verdict on Sunderland’s chances of being promoted amid a fast start under their new boss Regis Le Bris. He told Sunderland Nation: “Before a ball was kicked, I wasn’t convinced that they could get promoted with Jack Clarke.
“It was one of those - nobody had heard of Regis Le Bris, they'd been without a striker for at least three or four transfer windows and they haven't brought one in. They were a bunch of young, talented players that probably needed a little bit of experience and guidance around them on the pitch. That is why I believe Tony Mowbray ended up leaving the building because he felt he needed a little bit of experience. It wasn't forthcoming as Sunderland have this policy of only signing young players.
“Before a ball was kicked, I wasn't sure that Sunderland would be in the mix for a top six finish. Having said all of that, I had no clue what to expect from at least 70% of the teams and I would say that this season's Championship gives clubs like Sunderland a much better chance.”
