Leeds United may have been handed a boost in their reported pursuit of Norwich City midfielder Gabriel Sara. According to Fotomac, the Whites are rivalling Galatasaray for a deal. It’s claimed Sara is not keen on a move to Galatasaray, though, handing Leeds a potential boost.
But reports elsewhere suggest Norwich will not sell Sara for less than £20million, which puts the midfielder out of Leeds’ reach. Even if the Whites sell Crysencio Summerville as expected, they are not going to be able to spend £20million on a player while they are in the second tier.
Varane update
Sporting Gijon chief David Guerra has issued an update on QPR’s bid to land a £1.2million deal for midfielder Jonathan Varane, with talks having rumbled on over recent weeks. The two sides have struggled to agree a deal, but it seems progress is being made with talks.
“There is one month left (in the window) and we have a clear path,” Guerra told La Nueva España. “We have made progress (in the Varane transfer). There are still some details to be resolved. He is a very professional player. He came to the club and contributed to us. He took on a lot of responsibility at a very difficult time.”
