Fulham are reportedly hoping to get a deal done to sign Leeds United winger Dan James before the end of the transfer window.

The Wales international has been linked with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Everton over recent days but is the Cottagers who have seemingly stolen a march on the final day of the transfer window.

As per Sky Sports, James is now having a medical ahead of a loan switch to Craven Cottage.

However, the deal is dependent on whether his current club can get ‘anyone else in’ before the deadline.

Fulham to face a wait?

Fulham have had a busy day already, bringing in left-back Layvin Kurzawa from PSG and experienced winger Willian on a free transfer.

They haven’t stopped their recruitment just yet but face a wait to see if James will be coming through the entrance door.

Leeds are trying to sign Marseille forward Bamba Dieng, who has actually been linked with Fulham recently, but he now has a decision to make with OCG Nice joining the race to land him late in the day, as per reporter Fabrizio Romano.

James would give Fulham more competition and depth in attacking areas and they have been needing someone in his position following Harry Wilson’s injury.

The former Swansea City man joined Leeds in January 2021 from Manchester United and has since made 40 appearances for them in all competitions, chipping in four goals.

Time will tell whether his switch to Fulham goes through tonight, with Leeds’ pursuit of Dieng likely to have big implications.
