Fulham could have up to three players out injured for their trip to Newcastle on Saturday.

Fulham look to get back to winning ways this weekend as they face a trip to St James’ Park to play against Newcastle United, who sit five places above Marco Silva’s side in the race for European football.

The Cottagers lost 1-0 to Manchester United last time out, which left them 10th in the Premier League table, eight points away from the top four places. They will be keen to get back to winning ways after just one win in their last five games.

Marco Silva’s squad are relatively fit with regards to injury problems, as they could only be missing three players for the trip to Newcastle on Saturday. The Magpies could also miss three against Fulham, with a striker possibly to return this weekend.

Newcastle United injury news

The Magpies have two players who have been ruled out for the game against Fulham on Saturday, with the first being defender Jamaal Lascelles. He suffered a long-term knee injury in the summer, and has been in recovery since.

It is looking better and better for the 31-year-old, who is expected to return in mid-February for what would be his first game of the season.

Attacker Harvey Barnes will also be unavailable for the game on Saturday, as he is dealing with a hamstring injury that he suffered against Bromley in an FA Cup third-round clash earlier in January. He likely won’t return until mid-February too.

Finally, striker Callum Wilson could make a long-awaited return this week, as he has been recovering from a long-term hamstring injury. He did make a return earlier in winter, but suffered a set-back, which has kept him out until now.

Manager Eddie Howe said last week: “Callum is still on track for returning right at the beginning of Feb. He's making good progress. We're trying to do the right things with him to make sure that he is robust enough and has all the work [and load] behind him before he starts training with the group.”

Fulham injury news

The Cottagers have had one player ruled out ahead of the trip to Newcastle on Saturday, as full-back Kenny Tete won’t be ready for the match. He is dealing with a knee injury that he suffered earlier in January.

Marco Silva said earlier in the month: “Kenny is a little bit different because we know already the timescale. It's going to be probably to the end of March [or the] beginning of April. It's a long, long time without him.”

Fulham have two players in doubt, with one being winger Reiss Nelson, who is recovering from a hamstring injury that he has been dealing with since a 3-1 win against Brighton at the start of December.

Silva said last week: “Reiss is in the last steps of his recovery. He's already involved in some small drills with the first team - let's hope he can be ready soon.”

Finally, Harry Wilson suffered an ankle injury during Fulham’s loss to Manchester United last weekend, it is not yet confirmed as to how long he could be out for. Silva said: “We have to assess him, difficult for me to say now how long could be or not. Let's hope nothing serious.”

No return date has been provided, but Wilson is being assessed. If it is a minor injury, he could feature against Newcastle on Saturday.
