Fulham v Liverpool Injury Updates: 5 out and 2 doubts for Craven Cottage clash

Fulham could be missing up to three players due to injury concerns against Liverpool on Sunday.

Fulham welcome Liverpool to Craven Cottage this weekend hoping to get back to winning ways after two defeats in a row. They lost 2-1 to Arsenal in midweek in a game that saw the return of Bukayo Saka from injury.

Marco Silva’s side are six points away from Man City in fifth place, which is likely to provide a Champions League spot due to the English teams’ performances in the competition this year.

According to the latest injury updates, Fulham could be without up to three players for the game against Arne Slot’s side on Sunday. Whereas the Reds’ injury news suggests they could miss four players.

Fulham injury list

All three players on Fulham’s injury list have been out injured for some time, and they are all ruled out of the Liverpool game on Sunday.

Firstly, Reiss Nelson continues to recover from a hamstring injury that he had surgery on in February. As things stand it looks likely that he will be out for the remainder of the season.

Harry Wilson has also been ruled out as he is dealing with an ankle injury that forced him to undergo surgery at the start of February. However, it was more of a minor procedure than Nelson, so he looks set to return later in April.

Kenny Tete is also due to miss the game this weekend. Still, he is very close to a return as he is gradually easing into training more and more, meaning he could be available for Fulham’s next game against Bournemouth.

Marco Silva’s comments on squad fitness

Silva has spoken about Tete in recent days as he is nearing a return for the Cottagers within the next two weeks.

The Fulham boss said: “Kenny step-by-step is being integrated a little bit more. Not 100 per cent with the team, but around in some drills.”

Impact on team selection and tactics

Seeing as Tete continues to be on the side lines, Silva will likely play Timothy Castagne in his place, as he has been doing since he suffered his knee injury earlier in the season.

Harry Wilson’s absence on the wing will lead to a combination of Adama Traore, Emile Smith-Rowe, Alex Iwobi and Willian playing in the wide areas for Fulham against Liverpool.

Liverpool’s injury concerns

The Reds are set to be without at least two players on Sunday with two names in doubt for the game. Joe Gomez will miss the match, as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury. He looks set to return in early May.

Trent Alexander-Arnold will also miss the game on Sunday, as he continues to deal with an ankle injury that he suffered in their Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

Alisson is a doubt for the game with a head injury that he suffered whilst on international duty with Brazil. Manager Arne Slot said: “With Ali, it's simple, a concussion, he has to tick all of the boxes, and when he does, he will be in goal.”
