Ajax have reportedly looked into the possibility of signing Fulham target Justin Kluivert from Roma.

The winger has been linked with a move to Craven Cottage over recent times.

Kluivert, 23, spent last season on loan in France with OCG Nice but is now back with his parent club.

Dutch champions Ajax have ‘discussed’ the potential addition of the Holland international before the end of the transfer window, as detailed in a report by the Daily Mail.

Competition for Fulham?

Fulham have been busy this summer bolstering their squad following their promotion from the Championship last term.

Marco Silva’s side have made a strong start to life back in the Premier League, despite losing 2-1 away at Arsenal this weekend.

Kluivert would be a useful addition for the London club as he is a decent age, has already racked up 190 appearances in his career to date and has the potential to grow and develop in the future.

However, the fact Ajax are looking into signing him isn’t good news for the Cottagers’ pursuit of him.

Erik ten Hag’s former club may well see him as a replacement for Manchester United-linked attacker Antony.

Fulham have until 1st September to add more signings to their ranks and it will be interesting to see if they do any more business.

Other news

In other news, Fulham-linked Sergio Reguilon from Tottenham Hotspur is poised to join Atletico Madrid on loan, as per the Evening Standard.

The left-back has slipped down the pecking order at Spurs.
