Five players Arsenal could say goodbye to in final game against Everton including captain Lacazette

Arsenal go into the final game of the season against Everton knowing that a win might not even be enough to secure them Champions League football next season.

On the plus side, European football will return to the Emirates, and at this stage it does look like it will be the Europa League.

Regardless of what happens, massive changes will be expected at the Emirates with Mikel Arteta and his team already going through player profiles to try and energise his team.

There is still that space left by the departed Aubamenyang and there is still the need to try and compete with the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool and even Tottenham who will all strengthen. We expect that Newcastle will also compete given their new found riches.

There are players who are hoping to get extensions including Mohamed Elneny and Eddie Nketiah, if the right conditions are met.

Both clearly still love the club, but they want to be able to contribute more on the pitch while current club captain Lacazette has said his decision would be influenced by Champions League football.

It does feel like this is the summer where everything has to come together for Arteta especially if they don’t get Champions League footbal.

The Spanish manager has done well to get them in a position where they are certain of European football given how they started the season, but there will be higher expectations and he will have to get it right all the way next season.

He will have to let some players leave even if he likes them and then look to see if he can get an upgrades to help get the club back to where they truly belong.

So with so many changes expected at the Emirates, these are the players who might be saying goodbye to the fans after the final whistle today.
