Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira says striker Odsonne Edouard has the talent to make it in the Premier League, but will have to be more “decisive” in the penalty box.

The French forward has enjoyed a more meaningful start to the season where he is leading the Palace line and was rewarded with a goal.

Manager Patrick Vieira, who was particularly delighted with Odsonne Edouard’s performance, says all the striker needs is just to add more “bite” to his game and he will be fine in south London.

He said: “This is what he needs, to score goals, that will build his confidence.

“He needs to be more decisive inside the box, to have more bite.

“He’s a really, really talented player, he can do a lot of things with the ball at his feet and his movement is really good.

“We have to keep being more demanding of him, we have to ask him to do more and more. We as a staff have to work with him to get the best out of him.

“We will do half of the step and he has to do the other half of the step, for him to be consistent.”

Vieira’s side are on form having drawn with Liverpool at Anfield and beat Aston Villa convincingly over the weekend.

Last season they beat the champions at the Etihad and will be looking to get at least similar levels of impressive showing against Pep Guardiola’s men.
