Hudson, 40, has been placed in caretaker charge of the Championship side until a permanent successor is found.

Who are the favourites?

The former Premier League man is the 10/11 favourite on SkyBet as he awaits to see if he will land his first managerial role in the game.

However, there are other names in the frame too.

Sol Bamba is the second favourite at 3/1, followed by Rob Edwards at 9/1 after his sacking by Watford yesterday.

Luton Town’s Nathan Jones is 12/1, whilst Craig Bellamy and Scott Parker can be found at 16/1.

Hudson joined Crystal Palace from fellow London club Fulham in 2003 on an initial loan deal that was later made permanent.

He was a hit during his time at Selhurst Park and went on to make 122 appearances for the Eagles in all competitions, chipping in with seven goals in all competitions.

The Surrey-born man left in 2008 and went on to have spells at Charlton Athletic, Cardiff and Huddersfield Town before hanging up his boots in 2017.

Hudson has since delved into the coaching world and has been in interim charge of a club before already, having taken over during a similar situation at Huddersfield a couple of years ago.

He also managed the Terriers’ development before moving back to the Cardiff City Stadium last year.
