Crystal Palace have reportedly considered selling Jean-Philippe Mateta this winter. The striker has been linked with some Turkish clubs over recent times.

The Sun claim the Eagles have looked into ‘allowing’ the forward to head out the exit door before the end of the January transfer window next week. However, the report says given the lack of arrivals at Selhurst Park he is ‘set’ to stay put.

Crystal Palace are missing out on a deal to land Bristol City’s Antoine Semenyo to fellow Premier League side Bournemouth. It would be a risk to let Mateta go unless someone else came in as he provides competition and depth up top.

He has been with the South London club since joining on loan from Mainz in 2021 before his switch was made permanent. The Frenchman has scored nine goals in 54 games in all competitions and remains under contract until June 2016.

Galatarasay are said to be keen on luring him to the Turkish Super Lig, as reported by Fanatik, but the Eagles’ lack of business may mean they have to wait now. Patrick Viera’s side are said to be keen on their right wing-back Sacha Boey.

In other Crystal Palace news, defender David Boateng has been given the green light to head out the exit door and join Dover Athletic on loan. The 21-year-old spent the first-half of this season with Queen’s Park in the Scottish Championship and will now continue his development in the National League South.
