Crystal Palace will hope to secure their first Premier League win of the year after the international break when they host fellow strugglers Leicester City at Selhurst Park.
The Eagles have appointed the experienced Roy Hodgson to rescue them following a period of 11 games without a win that brought an end to Patrick Vieira’s time at the club.
The arrival of Roy Hodgson who is easily one of the most successful managers in the history of the club is expected to lift the squad and give them the new manager bounce which normally comes when a new boss is appointed.
The 75-year-old manager has the experience and knowledge to navigate the threats of relegation and his bosses will hope he makes it all count.
Leicester are hoping to build on the 1-1 draw with Brentford but have been hit with the news that defender Jonny Evans has picked up an injury while at international level.
Evans has been battling injury and attempted to return for the game against Brentford before feeling unwell and was asked to slow down by the Leicester City medical team.
He was however named in the Republic of Ireland team to face San Marino and Finland but he’s now been forced to withdraw from the games and is now a doubt for the game against Palace after the International break.
Brendan Rodgers’ side are desperate to avoid the drop but with Crystal Palace still without a win since New Year’s Eve, the game at Selhurst promises to be an intriguing encounter with both teams in real need of the three points.
Palace will also be hoping that the international break softens the blow of losing Vieira and players will return refreshed and ready for the final stretch of the season.
