Youngster Chloe Kelly, who was born and raised in the west London district of Hanwell, put her name in folk law as she scored the winner to hand England a Euro win and cement their names in the history books.

A fiery final, which one would expect between bitter rivals England and Germany saw its first glimpse of quality as Ella Toone’s audacious lob caught German shot-stopper Merle Frohms flat footed, giving England the advantage.

That lead was short lived, as Lina Magull put Germany back on level terms in the 79th minute with a delicate flick.

That goal sent the game into extra time, and after a barrage of pressure from England, a corner caused mayhem in the box before the ball fell to Kelly, who kept her cool and prodded home from close range sparking wild celebrations and handing England their first major international trophy since 1966.

Who is Chloe Kelly?

Chloe Kelly is an English striker who plays for Manchester City.

Kelly has enjoyed a great rise to fame, as she came on as a substitute as England were tied 1-1 with Germany, and eventually scored the winner sparking wild scenes in the crowd to hand England their first major international trophy for over five decades.

Born in early 1998, Kelly began playing football with her five brothers, and played for Queens Park Rangers before joining the Arsenal Centre of Excellence.

She stayed at Arsenal for the rest of her youth career, making her debut  On 23 July 2015, aged just 17.

Kelly made her full debut for the Arsenal first team in the Continental Cup against Watford, scoring her first goal just 22 minutes into the match.

She then signed her first professional contract in 2016, before being loaned out to Everton for the rest of the season.

After a couple of more loans for the Merseyside outfit, Kelly made a permanent transfer to Everton in January 2018, signing a two-year contract.

In July 2020, she signed a two-year contract with Manchester City, before extending it by three years earlier this year.

As of writing, she has made 16 appearances for England, and has represented her country at U15, U17, U19 and U20 level.

Despite hailing from London, Kelly plays for Manchester City, and earlier in the year, signed a three year contract for the Women’s Super League side.

The chance that was presented to her on a silver platter at the final fell to the perfect player, as Kelly is a striker for City, and dons the number nine shirt, which is always associated with strikers.

In a slightly odd set up, the Lionesses play their next game at home before the Super League kicks off, as they travel to Austria for a World Cup qualifier on 3 September.

Their next game in front of their fans will be just three days later, as they take on Luxembourg at the bet365 stadium in Stoke.
