Chelsea striker search

Chelsea are still considering a deal to sign RB Leipzig striker Lois Openda amid uncertainty over Victor Osimhen’s availability.

Journalist Simon Phillips has said: “The club are still looking to sign a new striker and a new winger should the opportunities arise, and as in my other sourced article today, Chelsea are currently talking to Napoli regarding a tough deal to try and sign Victor Osimhen.

“That isn’t the only option they are looking at though, and SPTC sources have said again this week that Lois Openda of RB Leipzig remains on the Chelsea radar as a potential target for this summer or in the near future.

“Sources mention him as a flexible target due to the fact that he can also play as a winger as well as a striker and naturally; he tends to drift wide when playing as a striker anyway. This season he has been playing as a second striker with Benjamin Sesko alongside him, and it is his wide play that has really seen him shine.”

Lukaku latest

It was reported on Thursday that Chelsea had reached an agreement with Aston Villa to send Romelu Lukaku to Villa Park, But a fresh report from CalcioNapoli24 claims the Belgian striker has rejected the opportunity to stay in the Premier League.

Lukaku is still said to be determined to join Napoli, with the claims of a Villa agreement dismissed as Chelsea putting pressure on Napoli. The Serie A club are reportedly waiting for Osimhen to leave before going ahead with a deal for Lukaku.

Neto chase

Tottenham are still said to be interested in snapping up Wolves winger Pedro Neto this summer. Ange Postecolou is said to want another attacker ahead of the new season, with Juventus wide man Federico Chiesa being linked.

According to Football Transfers, Neto is a serious option for Spurs, although Arsenal are also said to be interested in a deal this summer as they look to add competition out wide. The problem is that Wolves are said to want as much as £60million to strike a deal.
