The 24-year-old centre-back is said to have been a target of Chelsea since the summer transfer window.

Crystal Palace and England centre-back Marc Guehi is reportedly keen on a move back to Chelsea if he was to leave Palace in January or the summer transfer window. He has become a mainstay in the England set-up in the past year and has impressed at Palace despite the fact the club have struggled this season, putting manager Oliver Glasner under pressure.

Chelsea were linked to Guehi during the summer transfer window alongside several Premier League teams, but with recent reports suggesting he would be open over a move to Stamford Bridge, they could make a move for the defender in January.

According to TeamTalk, Guehi would be extremely tempted if Chelsea came in for him as he was part of the youth set-up and has strong relationships with several of the current Chelsea squad under Enzo Maresca.

The report also suggests that Palace could be open to selling him for less than the £90m target that they demanded from buying clubs during the summer transfer window, which was one of the main reasons why he didn’t leave Selhurst Park.

Chelsea face competition from Premier League rivals for Guehi

The Blues aren’t the only Premier League team that are keen to sign the 24-year-old defender, as Newcastle United were heavily linked to him during the summer transfer window with Palace rejecting an £80m bid from the Magpies.

Newcastle could decide to reignite their interest in the defender in January as they remain linked to Guehi heading into the winter window, meaning they could kick-start a bidding war with Chelsea to land his signature.

The Palace star was also linked with a move to Liverpool during the summer with reports suggesting at the time that Anfield was his preferred destination. However, links to the Reds have become few and far between and due to Arne Slot’s team having the best defensive record in the league, they may decide to avoid spending heavily on Guehi in January.
