Chelsea ‘to scout two’

Chelsea decided not to sign a striker in the summer window, although their skirting with Profit and Sustainability rules was realistically the only reason they did not spend big to land Victor Osimhen from Napoli.

Though, the search for a striker will go on, and according to Simon Phillips on his Substack, the Blues will be scouting both Brighton’s Evan Ferguson and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko in the early stages of the season as they look to find their ideal frontman for the future.

Neto signing praised

Chelsea’s summer business has, as ever, caused much debate, but Peter Crouch believes the Blues landed one of the signings of the summer in former Wolves winger Pedro Neto.

The former Stoke City striker said: “Pedro Neto from Wolves to Chelsea, I think he’s a top player. I think many in Europe would have signed him and Chelsea have got a top one there along with many others, but I think he’s a top signing.”

Badé blow

A reported target of Tottenham’s in Loic Bade has penned a new contract with Sevilla, with the Spanish giants slapping a £42.1million release clause on the centre-back. Bade spoke last year and revealed that Spurs had shown interest in acquiring his services in January.

Fabrizio Romano has tweeted: “Loic Badé signs new deal until June 2029 at Sevilla after bids rejected from Stuttgart e Roma. €50m release clause.” Badé signed for Sevilla permanently last year after an initial loan deal. The talented 24-year-old has since represented his country at the Olympics just gone.
