The player ratings as Chelsea progressed to the group stage of the Conference League despite defeat.

Chelsea qualified for the group stage of the Europa Conference League, but only just, after a tense 2-1 defeat to Swiss side Servette. The Blues took the lead through Christopher Nkunku after Mykhailo Mudryk was brought down, but goals from Jérémy Guillemenot and Enzo Crivelli set up a nervy finish. Chelsea managed to hold on and win the tie 3-2 on aggregate. But this was a display far from convincing and needed the manager to bring the likes of Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson to see this one out.

Below is how we rated the Chelsea performance:

Filip Jorgensen - 5 Will be disappointed with the way he conceded the first goal. Not much he could do about the second goal.

Benoit Badiashile - 5 Could have done better for the Servette goals. Didn't make a huge statement.

Tosin Adarabioyo - 5 Also part of a backline that should have done better for the Servette goal. Missed a chance to push for start at the weekend.

Axel Disasi - 6 Playing as a right-back, Disasi was decent without being incredibly imposing.

Renato Veiga - 5 Stepped into midfield to try and help out but didn’t always deliver the right pass.

Enzo Fernandez - 6 Was class on the ball but often caught out in transition.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall - 6 Was played in a double pivot with Enzo. Although he showed determination, his final pass was often either over-hit or under-hit.

Christopher Nkunku - 7 Confidently dispatched his penalty in the first half but missed a few chances he should have converted.

Noni Madueke - 6 Missed a few chances he should have put away, especially given his current form and confidence.

Marc Guiu - 5 He's a pressing machine. There's no doubt about his talent, but he needs coaching.

Mykhailo Mudryk - 8 Displayed impressive speed to win the early penalty. Looked dangerous whenever he took on his man, even if he didn’t always deliver the final ball. Quality performance from Mudryk today.

Nicolas Jackson- 5 Booked for a reckless challenge after coming on.

Moises Caicedo- 6 Brought some defensive stability to the team.

Tyrique George- 6 Looked bright when he came on the field.

Lively and created a few openings when he came on.
