Chelsea midfielder Xavier Simons is reportedly poised to stay put at Hull City despite interest from other clubs. The youngster has struggled for game time since making the temporary switch to the MKM Stadium in the summer transfer window.
Hull Live claim that he will not be following teammates Nathan Baxter and Harvey Vale back to Stamford Bridge this winter. In fact, they report that the Tigers are in ‘ongoing talks’ about a potential long-term deal for the England youth international.

Chelsea gave Simons, 19, the green light to head into the Championship for the first time in his career to get some experience under his belt. However, he has made just two appearances in all competitions this term, one of which has come in the league.
The Evening Standard reported earlier this month that Charlton Athletic, Oxford United, Leyton Orient and Salford City were keen on offering him a change of scene to help him get some more game time. However, Hull boss Liam Rosenior is believed to be a big fan and wants him to stay until the end of the season to provide competition and back-up to his midfield department as he looks to lift his club up the table.

In other Chelsea news, their former midfielder Frank Lampard has been sacked by Everton. The Toffees are joint-bottom of the league and are two points from safety.
