Chelsea have looked desperately poor since N’Golo Kante got injured against Tottenham and have been in the market in search of a cover.
Chelsea convinced Juventus to agree to a loan option that sees the Blue cover all the player’s £3 million wages and have the option to make the deal permanent for £30 million next summer.
N’Golo Kante remains the untouchable in midfield but Mateo Kovacic is working his way back from an ankle injury that has slowed his start to the season.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been in the team too recently but he plays better as a wing-back these days than a midfielder-and he also recently injured his hamstring, making him unavailable for the next couple of weeks.

Thomas Tuchel’s side have also signed former Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona even though he will not be available for at least two weeks after he suffered a broken jaw following a robbery attack in his home.
Left-wing back Marcos Alonso has also reportedly joined Barcelona after the Blues signed Marc Cucurella to replace him.
