Chelsea complete signing of Juventus midfielder as Thomas Tuchel sends Premier League message

Juventus midfielder has undergone his medical and will now fly to London to complete his move to Chelsea.

Chelsea have reached an agreement with Juventus for Swiss midfielder Denis Zakaria for a season long loan as Thomas Tuchel seeks to provide cover for N’Golo Kante.

The Blues have flown their doctors to Italy to help medical examination of the midfielder as paperwork is hurriedly being prepared to beat the transfer deadline later tonight.

Chelsea have looked desperately poor since N’Golo Kante got injured against Tottenham and have been in the market in search of a cover.

Chelsea convinced Juventus to agree to a loan option that sees the Blue cover all the player’s £3 million wages and have the option to make the deal permanent for £30 million next summer.

N’Golo Kante remains the untouchable in midfield but Mateo Kovacic is working his way back from an ankle injury that has slowed his start to the season.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been in the team too recently but he plays better as a wing-back these days than a midfielder-and he also recently injured his hamstring, making him unavailable for the next couple of weeks.

Chelsea have lost two of their last three games and injuries to key players has left the team flat and in need of bodies going into next week’s Champions League game.

Thomas Tuchel’s side have also signed former Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona even though he will not be available for at least two weeks after he suffered a broken jaw following a robbery attack in his home.

Left-wing back Marcos Alonso has also reportedly joined Barcelona after the Blues signed Marc Cucurella to replace him.
