Chelsea injury and suspension news as 7 listed heading into international break and Liverpool clash

All the latest Chelsea injury and suspension news as the international break takes hold.

Chelsea now head into the international break with their momentum halted a little, drawing with Nottingham Forest at home in their final game before the break. It was a strange and entertaining game against Nuno Espirito Santo’s men, and while the Blues could easily have won, they could just have easily have lost, with Robert Sanchez making a number of big saves.

Still, Chelsea head into the break in fourth place, and with four wins and just one defeat in seven games, they will be pleased with the start to the season they have managed. As the international break takes hold, we have rounded up all the latest injury and suspension news surrounding the Blues.

Cucurella has picked up five yellow cards and will serve his one-game suspension against Liverpool after the break.

Wesley Fofana

Possible return date October 24 vs Panathinaikos

The same applies to Fofana, who picked up his fifth yellow card of the season against Forest.

Reece James

Possible return date: October 20 vs Liverpool

Maresca said back in September: "His injury is a bit delayed. The most important thing is players come back when they are 100% fit. Reece is still out. Unfortunately, we don't have an idea at the moment [when he’ll be back]. In this case, he’s been very unlucky." It’s reported James could return after the break, although he will be sorely missing match fitness, yet to feature this season.

Carney Chukwuemeka

Possible return date: October 20 vs Liverpool

Chukwuemeka was struggling with injury over the weekend and will return after the break. Whether Maresca will want to use him is another question.

Levi Colwill

Colwill appeared to pick up a knock against Forest, but Maresca said after the game: “I think they are both OK when they went inside [to the changing room]. We will see, but I don't think there is any problem there.”

Noni Madueke

Possible return date: October 20 vs Liverpool

When Maresca said ‘both’ in that last update, he was also referring to Madueke. The same applies.

Omari Kellyman

Possible return date: November

There is no clear return date for Kellyman, who will be out for a few weeks more following his hamstring injury in September. He posted on social media at the time: "Gutted to have suffered a hamstring injury. Part of the game but I’ll be back stronger."
