Chelsea ended March unbeaten, a massive improvement to their February fortunes but the business end of the season is upon us and Potter will hope to have all his stars fit and ready.
The 2-2 draw against Everton at Stamford Bridge was deflating especially as the visitors had to come from behind twice to earn the point.
Chelsea boss Graham Potter would have been in the mentions for Premier League Manager of the Month if he secured all three wins in March but as it stands- the game against Aston Villa is one they have to take all three points.
The Chelsea boss is expected to have almost a full house when the league returns with the two-week break allowing players to fully recover and be fresh for the final stretch.
Key amongst them will be N’Golo Kante, the french midfielder was in the team for the Everton game but just never got off the bench as an intriguing end which saw Everton score late did not give room for Kante to make his return.
Then there is Raheem Sterling who has had hamstring issues and missed the last few games. The 28-year-old is still finding his feet at Stamford Bridge but there is no hiding from the fact that he is one of the best players at Chelsea having succeeded at Liverpool, Manchester City and now playing in south west London.
Mason Mount is expected to return for the game having battled illness, injuries and contractual issues as well as Wesley Fofana who had to withdraw from the French team due to injury.
Thiago Silva is also battling injury and the club will hope even if he’s not ready by April 1, he should be pushing to return around the first leg Champions League encounter.
Goalkeeper Edouard Mendy is also on the verge of first team action after injuring his finger in training and requiring surgery.
