Chelsea 'expected' to make Man Utd offer as Tottenham 'prepare' £25.5m bid

The new Premier League season is already underway, and Chelsea and Tottenham have had mixed fortunes, with both likely disappointed with their opening result. Tottenham could only manage a draw against Leicester City on Monday night, but Chelsea failed to pick up any points against champions Manchester City on Sunday.
Chelsea now turn attention to the Europa Conference League qualifiers, while Tottenham can begin preparing for Everton this weekend. In the meantime, both clubs will be continuing to navigate the transfer window. Here we round up all the latest surrounding both clubs.

Chelsea are being linked with a surprise move for Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho despite recently signing winger Pedro Neto on a big-money deal worth more than £50million. The Athletic say that sources at United suggest there is a possibility of Chelsea offering to sign Sancho before the window closes.
United are said to value Sancho at around £40million, with the winger having returned to Old Trafford this season after falling out with Erik ten Hag and going on to rejoin Borussia Dortmund on loan. A Chelsea offer seems unlikely, especially with the amount of money spent and the size of the current Blues squad.
Vanderson latest
Tottenham are said to be willing to make a late offer to land Monaco star Vanderson late in the window. According to L’Equipe, Spurs will offer as much as £25.5million to land the Brazilian ahead of the transfer deadline.
Spurs have already spent big this window, splashing out more than £100million to land the likes of Archie Gray and Dominic Solanke. While Gray can cover for Emerson Royal’s departure at right-back, Tottenham will want better options in that position with Gray preferring to play in midfield. Reports suggest Vanderson could be the chosen player.

Hide AdCarragher on Chelsea signings
Jamie Carragher has warned Chelsea they need to stop signing players en masse while also telling players to reconsider signing long-term deals at Stamford Bridge. “Chelsea have just got to stop buying players, and players have got to stop signing for Chelsea,” Carragher said on Monday Night Football.
“If I was a player I don’t know why you would sign for Chelsea, the only reason you would sign is because someone – your agent – might say ‘You’re getting a seven-year deal and that’s guaranteed money for seven years. You know what I’d say? Back yourself as a player, sign a four-year deal at a proper club and back yourself to do well, and then when you’re due for a renewal, your money goes up anyway. I don’t understand why players are signing seven-year deals.”
