Wolves have had to change plans on when they will unveil Diego Costa after the Spain international signed a one year deal at the club.

The 33-year-old completed his medical on Thursday and the plan was to unveil him on Thursday evening before new of the death Queen Elizabeth II changed the mood of the nation and plans.

Diego Costa was also in line to make his debut at Anfield this weekend against Liverpool but all that has been halted now with the Premier League postponing this weekend’s games to honour life of the Queen and mourn her passing.

Clubs have dimmed the use of their social media handles as a reflection of the mood in the country and further directives are supposed to follow as to when they can begin to get on with the game again.

With Costa’s debut against Liverpool now cancelled the former Chelsea man is expected to now make his bow against Manchester City next weekend if the Premier League decide that the show must go on.

Costa loves to wear the number 19 but Wolves have Jonny Castro Otto while the number 9 shirt is won by Raul Jimenez, so he is predicted to have the vacant number 29.

Wolves have had a worrying start to the season and with both Raul Jimenez and new signing Sasa Kalajdzic missing through injury, the club would have been without a recognised striker if they had not signed the former Atletico Madrid and former Chelsea man.
