Todd Boehly has made his stamp on Chelsea after replacing Roman Abramovich as their new owner in May. The American has spent almost £300 million since his arrival.
The Blues splashed the cash in Boehly’s first summer at the club, forking out a whopping £80m for Wesley Fofana, as well as signing the likes of Marc Cucurella and Raheem Sterling. It was also reported that they were close to completing a shock £60m deal for Everton’s Anthony Gordon after scoring four goals last season.
With the busy transfer window yet to pay off for Chelsea, it looks like they could once again spend more money to bolster their struggling squad in January. With the Blues already being linked with a long list of names, we take a look at some of the most interesting ones...
1. Jordan Pickford
Chelsea are reportedly looking to bring in a new keeper due to the disappointing form of Edouard Mendy this season and Pickford is said to be a target. The England international is also said to be of interest to Tottenham.
2. Malo Gusto
Chelsea are looking to bolster the right-back position following injury to Reece James and could see Gusto as a good option. The 19-year-old has made 14 appearances for Lyon this season.
3. Pau Torres
Chelsea are said to be one of a number of clubs targeting Villarreal defender Pau Torres, with Man United, Aston Villa and Tottenham also linked. It has been reported that the Spanish club could sell for an over of £40m plus.
4. Josko Gvardiol
Chelsea reportedly had a €80m bid turned down for Gvardiol in the summer but they remain interested, with the defender continuing to be linked with a move away from RB Leipzig. Man City are also rumoured to be targeting Gvardiol.
