8 League One free agents Charlton Athletic and Leyton Orient could sign including Portsmouth promotion stars

It's all eyes on the action on the pitch in League One now with the transfer window slamming shut on Friday evening.

Charlton Athletic got their business done early this summer, as Nathan Jones had hoped. Meanwhile, Leyton Orient strengthened with free transfers and loan moves.

Even though the window is shut, League One clubs can still make the most of the free agent market and LondonWorld looks at eight League One players still looking for a club who could tempt the Addicks and O's - market values as per Transfermarkt.

1 - Macauley Bonne - £230,000

The forward has played for both Charlton Athletic and Leyton Orient in the past. Bonne signed for Cambridge United from Gillingham in February to reunite with Neil Harris but the boss left the club for Millwall shortly after and the 28-year-old became a free agent this summer.

2 - Josh Martin - £250,000

The Norwich City graduate spent last year on loan at Portsmouth on a short term deal but played just nine times for the side. The winger does have five Premier League appearances to his name.

3 - Marko Marosi - £275,000

The 30-year-old goalkeeper made an impressive 147 appearances for Shrewsbury Town between 2021 and 2024 but left the club this summer.

4 - Joe Morrell - £315,000

Left Portsmouth at the end of his three year contract this summer, the 27-year-old midfielder has plenty League One and Championship experience.

5 - Gavin Whyte - £380,000

The midfielder spent last season at Portsmouth and played a big part in the side's promotion before seeing his contract terminated by mutual consent on Deadline Day - he had already played for Pompey in the Carabao Cup this term.

6 - Tyler Burey - £420,000

The former AFC Wimbledon and Millwall man saw his contract terminated by Danish outfit OB this summer, despite having another two years to run. The forward was on loan at Oxford United from January.

7 - Tyreece John-Jules - £420,000

The striker was released by Arsenal this summer upon the expiry of his contract with the Premier League side. The Gunners academy product was on loan at Derby County last term in an injury ridden season.

8 - Freddie Ladapo - £420,000

Announced to have departed Ipswich Town on Deadline Day having spent part of last season on loan in League One at Charlton Athletic, where he scored just one goal having arrived on a short term loan in January.
